The story goes to tell after the 'Battle of Marathon in 490 BC' The Greek messenger pheidlppides ran from the battlefield at marathon to Athens in order to relay news the victory - A Historical Distance of approximately 42km. on reaching he announced, "we were victorious" and
collapsed and died from exhaustion.
The 42km. run became the inspiration for the marathon run.
The marathon event was eventually introduced
as a sport at the 1896 modern Olympics held
at Athens, Greece.
In India, the term "tricolour" almost always refers to the Indian national flag. The flag is based on
the Swaraj flag, by PingaliVenkayya and first flown in 1923.
Each colour represents something different:
Saffron represents stands for courage and sacrifice.
White represents peace, unity and truth.
Green stands for faith and fertility.
Blue symbolizes the sky and the ocean.
Dharma Chakra - the 'CHAKRA', is a Buddhist symbol importance of justice in life.

Holding the flag and running reminds us of the sacrifices of my country men to make this country a free nation. I would urge you to try it as the colours of your national flag will bring, peace, love, prosperity and yes, a sense of security with the walls of great Himalayas to the 3 oceans around us.
